A native of the area and second-generation property broker for more than 22 years, Paul Dalbec is the successful owner of the Mont Tremblant Royal LePage franchise, the second largest real estate firm in Canada. He is also actively involved in the community where he chose to settle with his family after having lived and travelled extensively abroad. This experience, he says, taught him how to listen and adapt to the needs of clients from all nationalities, a precious skill when it comes to finding the perfect fit between a buyer’s dream and the reality. “This helps define our work ethic,” he says. “We want to be a partner and get to know our clients, their needs and lifestyle before we present them with a home that will fulfil their expectations.”

Fluent in four languages, Paul thinks globally and acts locally. “Even though our team is firmly grounded in the Mont Tremblant community, we make sure that we use the most advanced technologies, whether it is satellite GPS, the internet or state-of-the-art administrative support. We assist our clients legally, financially and practically in the most efficient and friendly way before and after the sale. Our follow-up policy is one of the assets that made us the industry leaders in this region.”

Mont Tremblant is quite possibly the most civilised retreat anybody would wish to find. Situated in the Laurentian Mountains, the community is at the heart of the Mont Tremblant National Park, only 130km (80 miles) northwest of Montreal. Its international airport makes the area easily accessible from anywhere in the world. Although best known as the number one ski resort in eastern North America, according to Ski Magazine, Mont Tremblant is a year-round destination. Nine golf courses as well as hiking and mountain biking trails complete this vision of an outdoor paradise.

Specialised service
As for the famed Canadian autumn foliage display, nowhere is it more majestic than in this unspoiled wilderness. With guaranteed snowy skiing, warm summer swimming and brisk autumn walking, Mont Tremblant is a picture of ever-changing fun.

The area is also renowned for fine local food, gourmet shopping, bakeries and farmer’s markets, a reminder of Quebec’s heritage of French art de vivre with a smile and bilingualism added. Throw in two music festivals, antique stores and luxury shopping and you have something with very broad appeal.

“This is exactly my point,” agrees Paul Dalbec. “This is why we favour a personalised approach to home buying. Tell us what you want and the chances are that we know exactly what to offer you. From luxury homes and quiet getaways to business property and land on which to build a dream home, we are aware of all opportunities in the area. We simply know Mont Tremblant like the back of our hand.”

So what is the price of paradise? According to Paul, 300,000CAD (£183,000) will allow you to relax in a 1,000sq ft (92 m2) apartment by the ski slopes. With 500,000CAD (£306,000) you’ll be decorating a lakeside chalet. Five to 9.7 million CAD (three to six million pounds) will get you something very special indeed.
