It’s hard not to fall in love with Crete. From the impressive ravines and abrupt magnificent mountaintops, punching through the clouds, to its pristine beaches far below, with vines baking in the midday heat. Those who have forgotten the sheer magic of this land should think again, and it’s a development like the new Theseus Beach Village that will rekindle the love affair. Theseus Beach Village offers expansive verandas, deep balconies and private gardens infusing each neighbourhood with their own aromatic scent and breathes the tranquillity of this new development.
Theseus Beach Village is made up of 27 discreet neighbourhoods, each containing a maximum of 30 villas, apartments or houses. 315 units in total all climb into two sides of a peninsula, made all the more impressive not only by its steep sides, but by the bays they descend into, with stunning views in any direction.
Theseus developer Marios Christofides saw the project’s potential immediately; “I came for the first time together with some other investors in 1996. I was very impressed from the hospitality of the people and saw a lot of prosperity. We went all over the island and eventually decided to proceed here.”
Marios chose well, and the end result is a very well engineered and full featured project. Whether it’s a one-bedroom apartment or five-bedroom villa with private swimming pool, the modern contemporary architecture blends seamlessly with the harsh, dramatic landscape outside. “One of our biggest advantage is the view here,” says Mr Marios. “We have very big windows and balconies. Lots of light, which makes a lot of difference.”
High spec, high quality of life
All Theseus Beach Village properties have parking and cable TV and Internet connections. Don’t think these are just seasonal homes though. “The project is suitable for holiday or permanent residence,” confirms Marios. “There is a very long period of good weather of about 340 days of sunshine and there is a very mild winter. The place is very safe and the crime is low. Our project is also gated with 24-hour security.”
Close by is Heraklion, the biggest town and the capital of Crete, offering shopping, culture and nightlife, but unlike other tourist destinations Heraklion has plenty of life all year round. The Theseus Beach Village development is also just 10 minutes from Knossos – the most prominent city of the Minoan era with its fabulous excavated palace. “And close by are traditional and fish taverns,” adds Marios. “Living here in Crete is very healthy because of the excellent climate, little stress and the food – olive oil, fresh fruit and vegetables – all promote long life.”
Two big national hospitals with many excellent private clinics are close by. For many investors, Theseus Beach Village appears that enticing combination of attractive sunny climate, top class facilities and design backed up a fine quality national public services infrastructure. A rare combination.
