Sibenik region is a unique place where the Dalmatian coast meets an indented archipelago, making it one of the most attractive tourist zones in the world. Sibenik itself is situated in its naturally protected bay at the end of the Krka river estuary. Throughout history, Sibenik has always been known as a town of culture and was famous for its artists, singers and innovators. Today, Sibenik is home to several internationally known festivals and events (International children’s festival, Chanson evenings, Jazz Festival and many others). Delicacies offered in the region, varying from lamb to grilled fish, will satisfy even the most demanding gourmands.

It first started as a charter company, soon to become one of the most respectable charter companies in the region. After taking over a refit and shipyard company, which was on a downfall, NCP began its journey. Today the company’s future looks somewhat different. It is the fastest growing company in the area, employing more than 400 people in nine daughter companies currently operating under the NCP.
The spectrum of NCP products and services goes from shipbuilding, refits and pontoons to yacht interior design, painting, charter and marinas. Refit and shipyard facilities with a 900 tonne synchrolift and a 1,500 tonne floating dock are able to accommodate yachts up to 80m long. The long-term goal of the company is to focus its services on accommodating and offering full service to mega yachts.
Since the refit and dockyard service first started as a support to warships at the beginning of the twentieth century, it will definitely, with its centennial experience, offer a great background in servicing mega yachts. In that light, NCP recently made an agreement with the world’s leading company in developing and managing mega yacht marinas. Island Global Yachting (IGY), an American company, is NCP’s new partner in the development of a 400 berth mega yacht marina, with two accompanying five star hotel properties. IGY has great experience in building and operating marinas in different parts of the world.
People are what matters
Hard work, dedication and drive are the characteristics of a typical NCP worker, thus lots of funds are invested in constant learning and development of the employees in all areas of business. NCP’s employment policy is mainly focused on employing domestic workforces, which is often very hard to accomplish due to limited resources, so human resource executives are often forced to reach out of the region in order to bring true professionals.
The future
NCP is in an enviable position and has a great potential to make the most out of it. Skills and knowledge of employees who are young, educated and willing to work, led by a management of experienced and knowledgeable people are the company’s greatest assets. Challenges that the people at NCP face are great but they are ready to confront them and sail away to a bright future.
