Escape to the most southerly island of the Caribbean

Trinidad is a place surrounded by the clear crystal waters of the Atlantic. Comprising of tropical climes, birds of paradise, friendly people and the beautiful Tradewinds Hotel. Exuding relaxation, this is the perfect place to unwind while providing you with the most practical location from which to launch your personal tour of the island of Trinidad.

Historic
In 1950 Tradewinds Hotel was the first establishment of its kind in the city of San Fernando. Situated in a prestigious residential area, the hotel was the favourite among the oil expatriates working in Trinidad at that time. Originally 12 rooms, a restaurant and bar, the hotel became a popular “Liming” spot for all.

Growth
In 1993 the Laing family, on seeing the growth of the island’s economy, the location of the property and the demand for hotel rooms, purchased the hotel and refurbished the original 12 rooms. By 1998 a further seven rooms had been added. After eight years of operating under the new Laing management team, the demands for its hotel rooms were unprecedented. In 2001 an entirely new three-storey wing was constructed and increased the room capacity to 40. Since then more rooms have been added as well as the new ‘Driftwoood Restaurant and Pub’..
