The Dominican Republic is one of the area's finest islands. It's blessed with beautiful beaches, a strong economy and great sporting facilities

In 2006 the Dominican Republic received 3.96 million tourists from all over the world, a quarter of a million of those being tourists from the UK. While the overall growth of tourist flow was 7.4 percent as compared to 2005, and 42 percent as compared to 2002, the Brits demonstrated and increase of 11 percent and almost 66 percent respectively.

A top tourist destination
Located in the heart of the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic reveals a most pleasant tropical climate and impressive ecological diversity with white-sand beaches, lush green valleys, deserts with dune formations and mountain ranges. The ruins of the first Spanish settlements in the New World present historical and archaeological interest. Dominican Republic has lots of opportunities for sports and recreation - 22 professional golf courses, whale-watching, rafting, windsurfing, kiteboarding, deep-sea fishing and diving. This country was also the location for several famous films, such as Godfather II, Havana and Apocalypse Now.

All these factors plus a friendly population, and a background of security and political stability make Dominican Republic a jewel of the Caribbean. After their vacations many of those 3.96 million tourists wish to stay for longer, and the fast growing real estate market gives them this invaluable opportunity of owning a home in the sun. Reasons for purchasing in the Dominican Republic are varied - a second home to hide away from the cold winter months, investment for rental purposes and/or capital growth, a future retirement place. Apart from that, many tourists nowadays prefer to rent an apartment or villa rather than stay in an all-inclusive hotel, and that is happening all over the country, especially on the Northern Coast of the Dominican Republic (Sosua, Cabarete). Many residential communities have emerged to satisfy the demand, one of the most prominent ones being Sosua Ocean Village, an exceptional gated development set on over 100 acres of exquisite oceanfront land.

Sosua Ocean Village offers you a wide array of elegant and stately villas, spacious apartments and luxury townhomes with visionary planning. Painless purchasing Once you have chosen your home, you can wholly rely on the on-site management company with efficient multi-lingual staff to help you out with the routine maintenance of your property. Vast park areas with lush tropical landscaping, low density housing, 24/7 security, electricity and other facilities - all of these contribute to a lifestyle of comfort, luxury and relaxation. A special feature is Club House offering a range of amenities all in one place within community - Gold's Gym, a spa centre, a restaurant with breath-taking ocean view, water park for kids, amongst others.
