Pioneering teaching and learning since 1875

Academic classes are structured after the university model where a passion for learning and a dedication to critical thinking is realised through thoughtful participation, leadership, and good citizenship, both morally and ethically.
Courses covered include traditional academic classes required of high school, fortified by individualised attention inside and outside of the classroom, nightly study sessions, a very low student to teacher ratio, and a brilliant and diverse faculty.

Faculty advisors are an invaluable resource, serving as student mentors who remain in close and frequent communication with parents. The advisory system provides ease of mind to parents, who can trust that an adult is carefully watching the social and academic aspects of their student’s life.

In consideration of the diverse global student body – representing 30 countries and 24 states – Wasatch Academy offers a home-stay programme for students who are unable to return home during holidays and breaks. Students reside in faculty homes, intermingling with faculty and their families, very often becoming “part of the family” themselves.
The facilities include a state-of-the-art technological centre in which students learn Web Design, Film and Video Editing, Broadcasting, Linux, Programming, and Robotics. The Centre for Evolving Technologies (CET) features a digital recording studio, green screens, and a student-operated radio station, bringing the technology of industry professionals directly to the students. Wasatch Academy also offers a cutting-edge Performing Arts Centre for their award-winning arts programme, and a prodigious indoor/outdoor Equestrian Centre.

Tune into learning
Pioneering teaching and learning since 1875, Wasatch Academy is a traditional, college preparatory boarding school for grades 9-12. Wasatch Academy provides a dynamic balance of rigorous academic studies with a wide variety of opportunities in athletics, experiential outdoor education, cultural enrichment, leadership training, and community service. The All Kinds of Minds Institute has named Wasatch Academy a School of Distinction, and their teaching philosophy adheres to Schools Attuned best practices. The ability to provide individualised learning to meet each student’s academic needs is Wasatch Academy’s greatest strength, and they hold that responsibility in high regard. The burgeoning athletic programme competes on a state- or nation-wide level in several sports, including soccer, baseball, basketball, skiing, and snowboarding. The equestrian programme features English, Dressage, and Western Riding, as well as the study of Equine Science.

Additionally, faculty-housing flanks the campus, in essence creating a second “layer” of family for students year-round and fostering a true community dedicated to the intellectual, emotional, and creative growth of each and every student.

Find your way
Nestled in the idyllic Wasatch Mountains of Utah, Wasatch Academy students enjoy fresh air, bountiful sunshine, and myriad opportunities for outdoor recreational activities, such as after school classes in tennis, aikido, fencing, soccer, snowboarding, and skiing. Wasatch Academy encourages its students to develop the confidence, curiosity, creativity, and compassion required to successfully meet the demands of a swiftly changing world. Wasatch Academy brings the best of the world to their students – its diversity, beauty, and extraordinary opportunities.
